About Calculation Field Definitions

In addition to the earnings and deductions that will show on employees’ payslips you may also define calculation fields which may be used to record and calculate amounts such as Leave or Bonus Provisions, Medical Aid Contributions, Package Components, etc. which do not reflect as such on the employees’ payslips.

 

The description for the Calculation Field is entered on the Calculation Field Definition Screen (XD). The same description will automatically be reflected on each employee’s Calculation Screen (XS).

 

36 Calculation Fields can be used.

If the Additional Earnings and Deductions Functionality (VIP Premier Payroll) has been activated on the Company Miscellaneous Screen, 72 Calculation Fields will be available, otherwise only 36 Calculation Fields can be used.

 

How to Access the Calculation Fields Definition Screen

To access the Calculation Fields Definition Screen from the VIP Main Menu:

  1. Click on Payroll.
  2. Click on Definitions.
  3. Click on Calc Field Definitions.
  4. The Calculation Fields Definition Screen will be displayed.

In most instances this screen will already be set up according to your company's requirements. You may however add fields, make changes to the existing setup, or delete fields that are not used.
